The workshop journal

The workshop notebooks.

We publish what we measure: the tests we run, the numbers they produce, and what we made of them. SEO explained with data rather than with beliefs.

Written in Montreal, from properties we own and operate.
Folio I

Being written.

The notebook opens soon.
Folio I

The first folio is being written right now.

The notebook opens with the tests running on our own properties: what we measure, what we take from it, and the numbers that go with it. Until it comes out, the results are already on display in the proof gallery.

How we write here.

An agency blog that recycles everyone else’s advice teaches nobody anything. We gave ourselves three rules, and they have held since the first folio.

I.

We publish what we have measured.

Every claim rests on data: a Search Console capture, a test run on our own properties, a cited source. When we put a number forward, we say where it comes from.

II.

We date, and we correct.

The SEO of 2015 still lingers all over the web. Our folios carry their date, and we come back to rewrite them as soon as the measurement changes.

III.

We write in our clients’ language.

The jargon stays in the workshop. A folio has to make sense to the person who signs the invoice, not only to the person who runs the mandate.

Your market gets measured before it gets won.

We start by putting numbers on it. The audit is free, the picture is complete, and you decide what happens next.
